Joanna is one of the directors at Nunny’s Farm CIC located in the heart of Great Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire. She left her career of 17 years in the prison service to set up a petting farm, bringing animals into the community, to provide opportunities to improve health & wellbeing, skills development and education to the children and families in the town.
The farm is on a 5-acre site with plenty of raised beds, wildflower meadow, polytunnels showing traditional gardening, as well as hydro & aquaponics systems. There is an orchard full of heritage Lincolnshire fruit trees, and future plans to create a Forest School area to further expand the education side of the organisation.
